Fit Friday (v2)

02|17|2017

My #fitfriday! Did a Country Heat workout after work! (I’m loving Victoria Secret fitness tanks these days! This particular one is open in the back ~ so, super light, airy and I love the sayings! #kale-ingit)

I’m gonna hit more intense workouts the next 3 days and then starting Monday I’m committing to 3 weeks of yoga and light activity like walking while I do the Ultimate Reset. I’m excited to start and excited to share more details ~ it’s a very restorative program and one of the stipulations is no intense or high impact exercise to make sure your body is able to rest and restore. It will be weird for me but thank goodness I love yoga!

So, tonight I’m busy re-reading things and getting ready to go grocery shopping in the morning! The Beachbody site has a TON of useful resources and there are amazing groups on Facebook to help guide me and the other coaches I’m doing this with! A friend of mine just finished it and she lost 10 lbs. and 9.25″ and she had very little weight to lose AND more importantly she says she feels amazing, sleeping better, more energy throughout the day and more! I’m SUPER excited for the possibility of all of that! AND, even more exciting is she lost almost another 2 lbs. after it was over! So, while some of the loss will be water weight when I do this, the fact she lost a few more lbs. after it had been over is exciting as well!

I’ll be following something called the “Crunch Plan” that requires less food prep and has more common ingredients. It’s a little challenging around here to find more out of the norm things and my schedule is pretty full coming up, so as long as I can still get good results, I’m going for this route this time around. I plan on doing this once a year or so, so the next time I will try to tackle the full meal options. The goal is to get a large variety of food and nutrients, and while I love that idea, I also love the idea of good options and food prep time that fit my life right now!

AND, Beachbody On Demand just came out with a Yoga specifically for the Ultimate Reset, so I’m set for the next 21 days! (I’m totally loving #BOD btw! If you don’t have it, you totally should get it! And, if you’re not already working with a coach, I can help you find out how! For $99 a year you can get unlimited workouts. Ummmm, yes please! I use it all the time!)

Andddddd, I’ll leave you with a #fridayfunny. Yes, the struggle is always real! BUT, on the upside, one of the other coaches doing the reset posted a pic of her southwestern veggie tacos last night and she said they were absolutely delish. SO, I keep hearing there’s a ton of food on this and GOOD food at that! It certainly makes heading into this a little easier to think about lol!

Hope y’all had a great Friday! Stay true to your health & fitness goals this weekend mmmmmkay? Don’t undo all that hard work you did during the week this week! YOU GOT THIS!

Fit Friday (v1)

02|3|2017

Yay, #fitfriday is back! And, going forward, I’m gonna make it more fun with more valuable info for y’all! I want to do some Q&A’s with some coaches on my team who are trainers and nutritionists and more! So, I’ll be asking y’all from time to time for questions and things you’d like to know!!

Today’s it’s all about me 🙂 #iknowsorry

Right now my fitness is at somewhat of a standstill. I was almost two weeks into a new round of Country Heat (i still love love this program btw! half-hour workouts that FLY by because they’re so fun! and, a ton of steps and low impact but great calorie burn?!? #signmeup) BUT, I got sick the middle of January (yes, I’ve been sick a lot this past year 🙁 ) and listened to my body and just did some yoga here and there for almost two weeks. So, I’m slowly getting back into workouts right now until my next phase in the adventure…..I didn’t wanna start a new round of Core de Force and not have time to finish it because….

Starting the 20th, I’m doing something called the Ultimate Reset. It’s like a detox for your mind and body and it’s advised not to do any strenuous exercise for the 21 days of the program. I’m SO excited for this! I totally need a reset on my nutrition….one like I’ve never done before! And, will be focusing on yoga during it! There’s a new program on #bod called Yoga Retreat and it just HAPPENS to be…..21 days 🙂 AND, I also just heard through the grapevine that also releasing on #bod is Yoga specifically for the UR and it’s coming out just as I get started! #winning

I’m excited and NERVOUS to focus so intently on my nutrition. But, I know that a healthy outside starts from the inside….mind AND body. And, I’ll be sharing more as I go about why but there are a lot of reasons I have for focusing on nutrient-dense foods, clean eating and ultimately an elimination plan for a while.

So, to get started, the Ultimate Reset. I’ll be talking more about what that is and why I chose it. And, then after that, I plan on starting my first of 3 rounds of Core de Force! Yes, 90 full days of my fave program right now! It makes me feel #badass! And, I’ll be incorporating 30 days of the Whole 30 with my first round of #CDF!

Lots of changes and exciting things to get back on the right track again!!

And, as if just FEELING better again wasn’t enough motivation for me, this girlie has my back! It’s still one of my top priorities in life to teach her how to love and honor herself and her body 🙂 #yepweloveoursnapchatfilters #becauseshesalwayswatching

Stay tuned for more health & fitness adventures!!

And, for your fit tip for a Friday…
When you REALLY don’t feel like working out, try just doing 5 to 10 minutes of your workout. So so often the hardest part is just getting started! Do 5 to 10 minutes and just see if you wanna quit after that! #ibetyouwont

Fit Friday (v8)

10|28|2016

Well, it’s safe to say I haven’t had a very “fit” week! I’m not sure I’ve even made my step goal most days this week.

The good news is that I’m starting to get over my ICK whatever that was and with the help of some meds and I’m gearing up for my next new fitness adventure.

So, when I read this in Uninvited tonight, it fit perfectly ~

Today’s disappointment is making room for tomorrow’s appointment.

When things don’t go as planned, we can best get over the disappointment by letting go and focusing on tomorrow.

So, that’s what I’m doing tonight! I’ve been reading some nutritional resources and my Uninvited book and now blogging to end my night. I have a fun weekend planned with a team event, a fun get-together tomorrow night and my cup is always filled with church on Sundays.

And, I’m going to be focusing on some running and yoga right now until I can start my new program AND really start dialing in my nutrition and make sure I’m eating enough and the right foods. My staple has been my gma’s elbow macaroni with milk or cream and butter. I really do LIKE it but honestly it’s more the comfort of just remembering her ~ when I was little, she made 3 things whenever I was sick and regardless of what they are, they make me feel better to this day ~ one was the elbow mac, another is just egg noodles and chicken stock and lastly her chicken noodle soup is the best in the world 🙂 What is it about when gma takes care of us that gives us comfort even as adults. Oh, and she would let me sleep in for as LONG as I wanted whenever I stayed with her!!! Yes, I miss that. 🙂 She’s in her 90s now and still full of spunk and nurturing 🙂

Hope my fit friends out there did better than I did this week! And, let’s keep fighting!!

Fit Friday (v4)

09|10|2016

9a43bb59193419f269d248976aa72415

I found this last night while scrolling thru Pinterest and while trying to distract myself from a nail-biter Bronco game lol….but I just had to use it for a #fitFriday post!

A lot of memes may sound and be cliche…..but I for one still love them and no matter how cliche they may be, sometimes the right one just hits you at the right time.

I’ve gotten caught up in the trap of “not ready” or “just not the right timing” over and over again.  I’ve spent my life comfortable.  I’ve settled.  I didn’t think I was strong enough or had enough inside me to change my life.

But, when I started coaching, I finally realized that there will NEVER be the “right time.”  You will NEVER feel like you are 100% READY for a change of any kind.  Why?  Because even if you know a change is necessary, change is HARD.  We by nature like being comfortable.  We don’t like being pushed outside our comfort zones.  Why do you think the term “comfort zone” even exists?!?

I think the only way we’re ever “ready” is when we finally decide the pain of staying the same is far greater than the pain of change.  When we finally get comfortable with being….uncomfortable.  I actually love the word “unsettled” instead of uncomfortable.

I first heard the word unsettled by Lysa Terkeurst.  You can read it here.  It changed so much for me.

The Prayer That Changed My Life

And, I talked about the pain of change in a blog post earlier this week and I often think of what truly being unsettled means.

For me, it means being willing to change…..welcoming change.  Being the type of person who is constantly wanting to grow and evolve and take risks.  Where there is no risk, there is no reward.

There will always be an upcoming trip or vacation, a long weekend, SUMMER or invitations of nights out with friends.  Don’t wait to make a change “until…..”

There will always be food temptations in the break room or a vending machine or lunches out with coworkers or drive-thru for something quick if you work in a 9to5 setting.  Don’t wait to change a learned behavior if those things are wreaking havoc with your goals.

There will always be good choices and not-so-good choices on the menu when you eat out with your family and friends.  Don’t not go do things….just make better choices when you’re out.

There may be relationships you stay in or friends you keep even though it may not be the best for you because it’s comfortable and familiar.  Take a look at who you surround yourself with.  They say you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.  Choose your 5 carefully and if someone doesn’t fit your passion and doesn’t love and support you for who you are….well, you know what to do.

There may be a job that pays the bills but doesn’t feed your soul.  Don’t be afraid to chase and do what you love!  I read something this week that said to find something you love to do and then find a way to get paid to do it.  So simple.  Yes, most would say SO risky.  Remember, where there is no risk, there is no reward.

Ok, I’ll get off my soap box now lol!

And, on that note, if you’ve been looking to make just a change in your fitness routine or get back into fitness, I have something short, sweet and fun for you!  A 3-DAY FREE fitness challenge.  Yes, 3 days.  If you’re interested, click on the image below!  We start Monday in a private Facebook group!

You don’t have to start big to change….you just have to start 🙂  And, it may sound simple to you but I truly believe that fitness opens doors.  A passion for fitness changed EVERYTHING for me.  And, now I live my life asking God to unsettle me….for this is not our practice life.
